1951 EXTREMELY RARE VINTAGE OMEGA GLOBEMASTER WATCH Yes, that's right, this is the first generation Globemaster. Before Omega introduced the Constellation line into the American market in 1952, Globemaster is the original name. Due to the name issue, Globemaster is replaced by Constellation and ever since 1952 the word "Constellation" is printed on the dial right above the star. Globemaster reappears under their own line in the late 50s, 70s and 2017 to present. There are only a handful of this watch (1951 version) and this particular one is the holy grail of its kind. The bumper movement this particular watch takes is the "luxury" finish version which is extremely scarce. The balance bridge takes a different regulator, the barrel ratchet wheel and the crown wheel have a different finish. The movement caliber is an Omega 352 with serial number 12520802 dating this timepiece to 1951. The more commonly used caliber for the Globemaster at the time is 354 which you'll find on most of the available example instead of the luxury finish 352. The case has a solid gold bezel and case back medallion, the lugs are gold capped, and rest of the case is made of solid stainless steel. There are some very light marks on the case back which can be polished away, however, it is best to leave the watch in its original condition. Case model is 2652-2 and measures 35mm across excluding crown by 42mm lug tip to lug tip. Brand new case back gasket. Crystal is in very good condition. Original signed pie pan crown. Of course, the dial is factory original without the word "Constellation" indicating this to be the "Globemaster". Price: SOLD item # OME813
